Antony
Grey |
Many
readers will know the name of Antony Grey
(pictured above), one of Britain’s
first-ever gay-rights campaigners. I’m sad
to say he’s died. He was 82, and hadn’t been
in good health for some time. He had
leukaemia and died at King Edward VII
Hospital in London last Friday. |
|
Editorial |
It’s
election time again here in the UK. An
opportunity, so the pundits are always
telling us, for the British public to engage
in the crucial debate about the choice of
who will govern and what policies will be
enacted in the next four or five years. But
does it really matter who gets in? |

The
Full Story |
Welcome to the first of our new
format news feature. The full story
replaces the two long-running
features, World Watch and News Watch
with a single more widely ranging
look at items of news from all over
the world. We hope to help join up
the dots on the picture of world
news and give our readers the full
story. Shameful
prime ministers and shameless popes.
Two-faced politicians and bigoted
religionists.
Dean
Braithwaite and
George
Broadhead piece together the full
story. |

Blogwatch |
As the
title suggests, we
do like to look at
others’ blogs.
Occasionally, we get bloggers to write
something for us; at other times we go and
look for ourselves. This issue features the
blog of someone you just may have seen on
TV. We’re impressed with this one and have
put it on our sidebar over at our own
Pink
Triangle blog. |

Pink
Triangle |
Pink Triangle
(PT)
is a forum provided by the Pink Triangle
Trust (PTT) for the discussion and
interchange of ideas concerning Humanism as
it relates to gay and lesbian issues, and
how gay and lesbian issues relate to
Humanism. But gay and lesbian issues and
those concerning Humanism don’t exist in a
bubble: they are part of the wider world.
Hence, there will be scope for broad
discussion on these and related ethical
issues. |

Church's End |
Is the Church of
England as we know it coming to an end?
Atheist readers may not care one way or the
other, but, while it has influence, and
while a conservative Reform movement is
holding some of the purse strings, should we
worry?
Neil Richardson is part of the C of
E, an institution he says is “tolerant and
easygoing” – and he doesn’t want it to
change.

AIDS
Critics |
Profits of the “AIDS

every year. When AIDS dissidents speak up,
they are ridiculed with often ad hominem
arguments. Here, the AIDS dissident

Lauritsen looks at
one piece of ridicule in particular, and
questions why he was not allowed to write a
reasoned reply in a British humanist
publication. |
