GBMCC (Gay Bikers Motorcycle Club) was formed in 1977 and now has nearly 500 members, men and women in England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and abroad. We have links with the British Motorcycle Federation, Motorcycle Action Group, National Association of Bikers with a Disability and various gay biker clubs in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and Italy. The GBMCC, which is the biggest gay biking club in Europe, offers its members a lively programme of events as well as support and friendship. The club runs a non-discriminatory policy, and any motorcyclist who feels at ease with gay men and women can join.

Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans History Month takes place every year in February. “Claiming our history, celebrating our present, creating our future!”, LGBT History Month celebrates the lives and achievements of the LGBT community. We are committed to celebrate its diversity and that of the society as a whole. We encourage everyone to see diversity and cultural pluralism as the positive forces that they are and endeavour to reflect this in all we do.

GLBT History Month was set up in the USA in the 1990’s by teachers and community organizations determined that a month should be designated for GLBT history. They chose October because public schools are in session and traditions, such as National Coming Out Day, occur then. GLBT History Month is endorsed by GLAAD, the Human Rights Campaign, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the National Education Association, and other national organizations. In 2006, Equality Forum assumed responsibility for GLBT History Month.

October … 31 days, 31 icons. The 31 Icons, living or dead, are selected for their achievements in their field of endeavor, their status as a national hero, or their significant contribution to GLBT civil rights. Equality Forum solicits nominations from state, national and international organizations and activists.

IDAHO is the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia. It was founded by Louis Georges Tin in 2005. Campaigns and Initiatives take place on or around 17 May every year to combat prejudice against LGBT people. This day was chosen  because it marks the anniversary of the day in 1990 when the World Health Organisation (WHO) removed homosexuality from its list of mental diseases.

The voice of atheism since 1881, the Freethinker was founded by GW Foote, an outspoken critic of religion. After the publication of irreligious cartoons  in the 1882 Christmas edition, Foote was convicted of blasphemy and sentenced to 12 months hard labour. Despite this setback the magazine has remained in print ever since.

MediaWatchWatch was set up in January 2005 in reaction to the religious campaign against the BBC's broadcasting of Jerry Springer: the Opera. It keeps an eye on those groups and individuals who, in order to protect their beliefs from offence, seek to limit freedom of expression. And it makes fun of them.

Sharing my own thoughts as I go. It is not going to be politically correct. I do NOT believe in God, Allah or the Tooth Fairy. I do however believe in blasphemy and humour."
